Summary
Many of us have seen those ‘scramble crosswalks’ in the downtown areas of cities in other parts of the world. Now, Vancouver is hoping to experiment with the same idea. The city has approved a plan for a pilot project at Granville and Robson that holds traffic in all four directions as pedestrians crisscross the intersection heading which ever way they please. This will likely become a reality in the summer of 2024 and could become permanent if it proves successful.
