Other news…
Vancouver’s HR MacMillan Space Centre will go ahead with some major upgrades. The federal government has kicked in an initial $350,000 for the non-profit organization that runs the museum. Other upgrades will include new high-end projectors for the Planetarium. It’s hope upgraded technology will lead to a resurgence in popularity for the iconic attraction.
Message from North Vancouver RCMP to teens and their parents: weapons can cause disagreements to spiral out of control and result in an escalated police response. The Mounties are issuing the warning noting there have been ten cases of teens found carrying replica guns, knives and homemade Tasers over the past two weeks. Police hope parents will have discussions with the children about the dangers of having such items.
Family members of a missing 59-year-old man continue to search an area around the Coquitlam River following the torrential rains over the weekend. Robert Belding was last seen near Pipeline Road and Galette Ave late Sunday afternoon. Coquitlam Search and Rescue thinks Belding fell into the river and was swept away.
A mix of sun, cloud and even some fog on Wednesday with the slight chance of showers. The same for Thursday. Friday will be mostly sunny. Here are the latest conditions from our private weather station in Surrey.
