Last week, BC United imploded. This week, star-candidate Dr. Claudine Storness-Bliss has announced she will suspend her Surrey-Cloverdale campaign. The outspoken Surrey Memorial obstetrician-gynecologist will neither run as an independent nor under the BC Conservative banner. Storness-Bliss had run on a promise to help make B.C.’s healthcare system, and Surrey Memorial, better.

An 81-year-old man has been found dead in a home on Texada Island. The man was found in a home at the north end of the island on Monday - homicide investigators were called-in. The death is considered an isolated incident…no suspects are in custody.
Metro Vancouver HandyDART workers walked off the job on Tuesday in a dispute over wages. It’s the first strike for the drivers in over 15 years. The HandyDART drivers make about $31 bucks an hour - regular public transit drivers of big buses earn about $41 before overtime.
BC Ferries was hit by a series of delays on Tuesday after the Queen of New Westminster suffered mechanical problems. That ferry was pulled from service resulting in the loss of seven sailings between Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay. BC Ferries is refunding passengers who made reservations.
