The summary
In the news, as we continue to head into a rain-soaked weekend, shootings and a stabbing top the headlines. Vancouver Police still aren’t sure or aren’t saying whether Wednesday night’s deadly stabbing near Renfrew and Graveley was random or targeted. A 37-year-old died after being rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, Thursday night had more gunplay in North Delta and Surrey’s good old Whalley neighbourhood. A man’s recovering from some bad injuries after reportedly being shot near 92A Avenue and 117th Street in North Delta, some time around 11:00 p.m. Now, here’s the interesting part…another story suggests a man was shot in Surrey’s Whalley ‘hood near 92nd and King George less than an hour earlier. Connect the dots? As it stands, two different stories, two different police agencies.
And - an update, now IHIT says it’s investigating a homicide in Surrey. As of 10:30 a.m., no more details.
