Summary
In the news once again is the Urban Safari Rescue Society - an organization in south Surrey that’s home to a number of exotic animals…mostly reptiles. This time it’s because of an unfortunate fire at the facility the resulted from a power surge after Saturday’s blackout in the neighbourhood. Some pets were rescued by volunteers and first responders but many others died. Back in June of 2020, the Executive Director of the society told Global News money problems due to the pandemic would force it to consider closing.
