The summary

In the news, what a horrible situation for those living around North Vancouver’s Parkgate Village. A woman was shot dead by Mounties on Saturday night in connection with a reported break-in at a home at Hamber Place and Mount Seymour Road. RCMP say there was a confrontation with police during an arrest attempt. B.C.’s police watchdog is now looking into the details. Speaking of policing, Tuesday marks the last day the Surrey Police Service will stop hiring officers. It’s looking more and more like Mayor Brenda Locke will indeed be putting a halt to any notion of a transition from the RCMP to a City police force.
