Summary
In the news, one of Vancouver’s oldest elementary schools will change its name. The Vancouver School Board has given the nod to get rid of ‘Lord Roberts’ - a school originally built in the West End back in 1901. Lord Roberts was a British general during the Boer War and has been connected to the use of concentration camps in South Africa. There’s no word yet on what the school will be renamed although many suggest naming it after its location.
